Google has renamed its artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot Bard to 'Gemini', while launching a paid subscription for the new version, 'Gemini Advanced'.

In a statement released by Google, it was noted that many users worldwide have been using Bard, which was launched last year, to prepare for job interviews, debug code, brainstorm new business ideas, or create images.

The statement indicated that Bard will now be called 'Gemini', and that users can already chat with Gemini in more than 40 languages across more than 230 countries and territories using the 'Pro 1.0' model.

It was stated that a mobile app has been introduced with 'Gemini Advanced' to help users easily collaborate with the best features of Google AI, noting that 'Gemini Advanced' is a new experience that provides access to Ultra 1.0, the company's state-of-the-art AI model.

The statement mentioned that with the Ultra 1.0 model, Gemini Advanced is more capable at complex tasks and allows for longer and more detailed conversations, adding that Gemini Advanced is currently available in English in more than 150 countries and will be expanded to more languages over time.

It was stated that Gemini Advanced can be used as part of the new 'Google One AI Premium' plan for $19.99 per month, with a 2-month free trial period.

The plan will offer the latest advancements in Google AI as well as all the benefits of the existing Google One Premium plan, and it was noted that AI Premium subscribers will soon be able to use Gemini in Google services such as Gmail, Docs, Slides, and Sheets.

The statement also expressed that a new mobile experience for Gemini and Gemini Advanced will be offered through a new app within the Google app on Android and iOS, sharing the information that various tasks can also be easily performed from a phone.
