While Apple is considered a pioneer in the smartphone world with its iPhone series and continues its work on the iPhone 16, it has also set plans for the series it will release in the coming years. Key sources have revealed new details about the iPhone 17.

While iPhone series generally offer high-end hardware and experience, they fall behind their competitors in some details. One of the biggest criticisms the company has faced was that standard models had screens with a 60Hz refresh rate. However, it appears that the company plans to change this in the coming years.

In recent years, Apple has created significant differences between standard and Pro models, and this distinction is also visible in their screens. For example, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models used low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) panels, the iPhone 15 Pro models adopted the more advanced low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LPTO) technology.

According to a report published by The Elec, Apple will make a major change regarding screens in the iPhone 17 series it will release next year. The ProMotion technology with a 120Hz refresh rate, found in iPhone 15 Pro models, will also be used in the standard models of the iPhone 17 series.

Last year, a source named Ross Young shared information regarding Apple's future plans. According to this post, iPhone 17 Pro models will feature under-display Face ID technology.
