HMD Global is dropping the Nokia brand

HMD Global has begun preparations to produce phones under its own brand. The company announced that it will no longer use the Nokia brand. The future of Nokia-branded phones remains uncertain.

Once one of the leading mobile phone manufacturers, Nokia is currently in a position far removed from the sector. Nokia-branded phones have been released by HMD Global for a long time. However, according to the latest information, this situation appears to be changing.

HMD Global announced last year that it would produce phones under its own brand. In a video recently shared by the company, it officially declared that it will no longer use the Nokia brand. Future phones will carry the 'HMD' logo.

The video shared by the company signals a product category that is not limited to just phones. In addition to smartphones, HMD Global will also produce tablets and wireless headphones. The first HMD-branded smartphones will be introduced at the MWC 2024 event, which will take place between February 26 and 29.

Existing Nokia-branded phones will continue to be sold until stocks are exhausted. HMD has launched a discount campaign to clear stocks quickly. Additionally, it is stated that a company called 'Finish' will continue to produce Nokia phones, but the scope of this situation is not yet clear. Whether a new Nokia phone will be released remains uncertain.
