iOS 17.4 Beta 1 is locking up iPhones!

The iOS 17.4 Beta 1 update was released to users recently. However, it is being reported that this new package is affecting and locking up some iPhone models.

The iOS 17.4 Beta 1 update, which was distributed in recent days, includes several important innovations and bug fixes. However, it is reported that some iPhone models are locking up after the update is installed.

With the update released last week, important new features such as the ability to track stopwatches as Live Activities were introduced to users. Additionally, features were added that can be enabled to display the stopwatch in the Dynamic Island. The update also includes 118 new emojis.

However, an interesting error encountered by Sihirli Elma Editor Taha Karaca after installing the update was that his iPhone locked up and the touchscreen stopped working. He also shared that the device would not charge via cable, forcing him to use wireless MagSafe instead.

After long efforts, the problem could not be resolved, so he had to connect the device to a computer to reset it and perform a fresh installation by reverting to the iOS 17.3 version. However, Apple has not yet made a statement regarding this error.

It is normal for such issues to occur in beta packages, as Apple tests its new features in beta updates before releasing the stable version to users. We expect the touchscreen error to be fixed in Beta 2.

The iOS 17.4 update is actually important for Apple, as the European Union mandates the ability to install apps from outside the App Store under the Digital Markets Act (DMA). Sideloading support will be enabled with the stable version of iOS 17.4.
