A new addition has been made to wearable artificial intelligence products. Friend necklaces, for which Avi Schiffmann spent 1.8 million dollars on the domain, turn into a friend that is with you at all times with AI support. The necklace, which closely witnesses your life, has a minimalist design the size of an AirTag.

In the startup's trailer, it is described as a friend that is always with its owner, with the device listening to people wearing it at all times through the AI-powered necklace Friend.

Friend, which attracted great interest from investors before it was even released, received 2.5 million dollars in investment.

Schiffmann spent 1.8 million dollars of the 2.5 million dollar investment to purchase the friend[dot]com domain before the product was even launched.

Many comments are being made on social media about the necklace, such as, “I developed a bluetooth microphone that listens to everything you say and sends it to ChatGPT. Dystopia activated.”

Speaking to Wired, an America-based magazine, Avi Schiffmann mentions that Friend is essentially a new form of digital companion, but he also acknowledges it as a mix of many things.

Avi Schiffmann, who became known for the website he created to track cases during the Covid period when he was just 17, stated that he later tried an AI for productivity but found it insufficient.

He said his work transformed into Friend while he was going through a lonely period.

The necklace, which has a battery life of approximately 15 hours, has a built-in microphone that listens to everything. It responds by transferring what it hears to artificial intelligence via Bluetooth. Its color palette is almost identical to Apple's color palette.
