A new report states that Tang Tan, currently the person responsible for product design at Apple, will leave the company in February. This will undoubtedly lead to changes in the most critical product groups.

APPLE WATCH AND iPHONE DESIGNER DEPARTS

As reported by Donanımhaber, Tan currently reports to John Ternus, Apple's senior vice president of hardware engineering. Following his departure from the company, Tan's responsibilities will be distributed as part of a reorganization within the hardware engineering team. Richard Dinh, who currently reports to Tan and leads iPhone product design, will see his area of responsibility expand and will begin reporting directly to Ternus. Kate Bergeron, the hardware engineering executive currently managing the Mac, will take over Apple Watch design.

The report states that Tan's team has tight control over product features, including the appearance of devices and how they are designed. The report also notes that other Mac product design and iPhone hardware managers have recently been alerted.
