Apple had agreed to pay $35 million in compensation in a lawsuit filed years ago due to an audio defect known as "loop disease" in the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus models released in 2016. Now, compensation payments have begun for affected users in the US.

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models, which Apple launched in 2016, had drawn attention with their sales success. However, some users encountered a technical defect called "loop disease" that caused audio issues. Problems such as audio not working during phone calls and the speaker icon turning gray had caused grievances for users.
A lawsuit was filed against Apple years ago due to this issue, and the tech giant agreed to pay $35 million at the beginning of last year. According to the latest information, compensation payments have begun for affected users in the US. While users are receiving an average of $200 (approximately 7180 TL), it is stated that some payments could go up to $350 (approximately 12,500 TL).
However, the compensation will only be valid for users who participated in the lawsuit process in the US. Although Apple accepted the $35 million payment commitment, it did not admit to any fault or liability. Furthermore, it is noted that a large portion of this amount will go toward attorney fees. Nevertheless, for the affected users, this payment, which comes years later, seems to provide at least some consolation.
