Meloni and Bill Gates hold 'artificial intelligence' meeting
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni discussed artificial intelligence technology with Microsoft founder and American businessman Bill Gates.

According to the Italian ANSA news agency, Meloni hosted Gates at the Chigi Palace, the prime ministerial office in Rome.

It was stated that during the one-hour meeting, the pair discussed the topic of artificial intelligence, which is one of the priority agenda items of Italy's G7 Presidency.
Father Paolo Benanti, an Italian member of the United Nations (UN) Artificial Intelligence Advisory Body and a professor at the Pontifical Gregorian University, was also present at the meeting.
Speaking to reporters afterward, Benanti said that Gates "emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence being in the right hands."
Benanti conveyed that Gates, as a technology expert, highlighted the significant advantages that artificial intelligence offers in improving certain processes, while also drawing attention to its risks.
