AI TECHNOLOGIES ALSO INTRODUCED
Mercedes-Benz introduced its digital developments that will transform the customer experience at CES 2024, one of the world's most important technology fairs, held in Las Vegas, USA, between January 9-12, which hosted more than 4,000 companies and over 130,000 visitors. At the heart of these digital developments is a new MBUX Virtual Assistant that uses generative AI and advanced 3D graphics. This makes interactions more natural, intuitive, and personalized. Running on the new Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), developed in-house from scratch, the MBUX Virtual Assistant paves the way for a significant digital experience.
According to the information provided, the MBUX Virtual Assistant introduced at CES 2024 offers a new face that establishes a natural and empathetic interaction with the driver, based on MB.OS as the most human-like interface of a Mercedes-Benz to date. It uses generative AI and proactive intelligence to adapt to customer needs and make life easier, more convenient, and comfortable.
Utilizing advanced 3D game engine graphics, MBUX Surround Navigation combines route guidance and assistance. Working with the domain integration of MB.OS, this advanced feature informs the driver by matching the car's surroundings with real-time situations.
Mercedes-Benz also introduced its entertainment feature at CES 2024. MBUX SOUND DRIVE, which Mercedes-AMG collaborated with American entrepreneur will.i.am to launch, uses advanced software to allow music to react to driving characteristics in real-time, while connecting vehicle hardware to music software through precise 'in-car signals'.
MBUX SOUND DRIVE, which can synchronize with other in-car 'signals' beyond predetermined parameters such as acceleration, braking, energy recovery, and steering angle, can, for example, work in conjunction with windshield rain sensors to provide soothing rhythms to reduce stress and increase concentration in harsh weather conditions.
Mercedes-Benz has also joined forces with Audible and Amazon Music to leverage the capabilities of Dolby Atmos for in-car storytelling. With this collaboration, occupants are at the center of a dynamic, concert-hall-like audio experience that includes audiobooks, podcasts, and music. The update is planned to begin in the 3rd quarter of 2024 via remote update of the third-generation MBUX for new Mercedes-Benz E-Class and CLE Coupe and Cabriolet customers. Customers with Audible and Amazon Music accounts can also access both applications and the relevant content available in Dolby Atmos.
Mercedes-Benz introduced the highly anticipated, fully electric, camouflaged prototype of the iconic G-Class at CES 2024. This time, the G-Class attracted attention with its new electric version by showcasing its 720-degree turn capability in the G-TURN demonstration.
