According to court documents leaked to the American press, attorneys from 33 US states filed a lawsuit against Meta in October.

In the lawsuit, senior Meta officials are accused of knowing that the company's platforms curate their content to attract children's attention.

CONTENT EXPLOITS CHILDREN

Furthermore, the lawsuit notes that the content on Meta's platforms exploits children and harms their psychological well-being.

In a statement to the Associated Press (AP), Meta noted that the accusations in the lawsuit contradict the company's efforts to create a safe environment for children.

On November 10, the European Union (EU) requested information from Meta and Snapchat regarding how they protect minors from illegal and harmful content on their platforms.
