Microsoft offers jobs to OpenAI employees

In a post on the social media platform X, Scott pointed to a letter sent by OpenAI employees to the board of directors, stating that he appreciates the possibility of employees joining Altman at Microsoft's new artificial intelligence research laboratory.

Addressing OpenAI employees, Scott noted that there could be roles for them at Microsoft if needed, and that salaries matching their compensation at OpenAI would be offered.

On the other hand, according to a Bloomberg report citing unnamed sources, Sam Altman and the OpenAI Board of Directors have begun discussing the possibility of Altman returning to the company.

It was alleged that some of OpenAI's investors are also involved in the discussions, with many of them pressuring for Altman to be reinstated to his former position.

EMPLOYEES HAD THREATENED THE BOARD WITH RESIGNATION

In a statement released on Friday by OpenAI, the developer of the artificial intelligence application ChatGPT, it was stated that "the board no longer has confidence in Altman's ability to continue leading OpenAI," and it was announced that the CEO had left his post.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella also announced yesterday that Altman would be joining Microsoft to lead a new advanced artificial intelligence research team.

In an interview with CNBC, Nadella also argued that OpenAI's governance structure needs to change, stating that Microsoft would be in dialogue with the board on this matter.

OpenAI employees had demanded the resignation of the current board and threatened to leave their posts and follow Altman to Microsoft, the company's largest investor.

Most of the company's employees signed a letter addressed to the OpenAI board of directors, stating that they "cannot work with people who lack competence, judgment, and care for the company's mission and employees."

Marc Benioff, CEO of the cloud-based software company Salesforce, also offered to hire employees who resigned from their positions at OpenAI.
