Microsoft to lay off 1,900 employees in its gaming division
It has been reported that Microsoft, one of the US technology giants, will lay off approximately 1,900 employees from its gaming division.

According to The Verge, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer sent a note to employees regarding the matter.
1,900 PEOPLE TO BE LAID OFF
In the note, Spencer recalled that more than three months have passed since the Activision, Blizzard, and King teams joined Microsoft, and stated that Microsoft Gaming and Activision Blizzard leadership are committed to aligning on a strategy and execution plan with a sustainable cost structure that will support the entirety of their growing business.
Spencer stated that as part of this process, they have made the decision to lay off approximately 1,900 people in the gaming division.
MANY EMPLOYEES WILL BE AFFECTED
This number corresponds to approximately 9 percent of the 22,000-employee Microsoft gaming division's workforce. It is noted that employees from Activision Blizzard, Xbox, and ZeniMax will be affected by the layoffs. Meanwhile, Blizzard President Mike Ybarra announced in a statement on his X social media account that he would be leaving Blizzard.
Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard, the developer of games such as Call of Duty and Diablo, for approximately 69 billion dollars last October.
