Minister Uraloğlu's 5G statement: 'Within two and a half years...'

The transition process to 5G is beginning across Turkey; Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the new mobile communication technology will be fully available nationwide within two years.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu shared important information regarding Turkey's plans for the transition to 5G technology. In his written statement, Minister Uraloğlu noted that the first signal for 5G services will be received starting April 1, and that efforts will continue to expand this high-speed mobile communication infrastructure across the entire country within two years.

Minister Uraloğlu emphasized their determination with the statement, "We aim to provide 5G services, for which we will receive the first signal on April 1, to every point in our country within two years."

Reminding that 3 billion 534 million dollars in revenue was generated from the authorization tender held on October 16, 2025, for the widespread adoption of 5G technology in Turkey, Uraloğlu pointed out that this new generation of communication technology will provide striking improvements in speed, capacity, and service quality.

Emphasizing that 5G infrastructure will lead to radical transformations not only in communication but also in many sectors such as industry, agriculture, and media, Minister Uraloğlu said that the new system will optimize production processes and increase efficiency in industry through smart factories. He also pointed out that more sustainable and efficient production will be possible in agriculture through smart applications.

Uraloğlu made the following assessments regarding the innovations brought by 5G technology:

"With the transition to 5G, our citizens will gain access to faster, more reliable, and more uninterrupted communication. 5G technology will accelerate transformation in many areas, from industrial robots to autonomous driving technologies, and from critical infrastructure management to smart city applications. In industry, smart factories will optimize production processes and take efficiency to the peak. In agriculture, more sustainable and high-yield production will be achieved through smart farming applications. In the media sector, journalists will be able to broadcast live without interruption in 8K image quality, and our reporters will be able to transfer high-quality images and data from the scene in seconds."
