New AI move from Microsoft

Edge will now be more than just a browser. This is because Microsoft has started using the name AI Browser for Edge. With this, Microsoft could be the pioneer of a brand-new trend. You can expect products hitting the market this year to bill themselves as AI devices.

MICROSOFT IS USING THE NAME AI BROWSER FOR 'EDGE'

Microsoft is attempting to rebrand its Edge web browser. Edge used to sit alone on the edge of your desktop. It had long since taken its place on the dusty shelves of tech history. That was until Microsoft tried to revive it. 

Now, Microsoft is trying to claim that Edge is at the cutting edge of artificial intelligence. The company has started calling its native browser "Microsoft Edge: AI Browser." This change might sound trivial. However, this situation could be a harbinger of a new trend. Following Microsoft, many companies may add the name AI to their products.

NEW FEATURES

Microsoft has now updated its application store pages. As a result, this nickname appears when searching for Edge in the Google Play Store and Apple's App Store. However, for some reason, the browser is written in lowercase in the Play Store. Microsoft had already used the name "your AI-powered browser" for Edge after adding Bing AI features last year.

But now, AI is coming to the forefront more for those downloading the mobile app. The app's description now mentions the browser's GPT-4 capabilities along with the built-in Copilot chatbot that follows Bing search. The browser also accesses OpenAI's DALL-E 3 AI image generator model, which can be accessed via the copilot. 

However, you will not see any of these brandings when you search for Edge in the Microsoft Store. The reason for this is that all computers running the Windows operating system already come stocked with Edge.
