Eray Kalelioğlu from Webtekno stated that the feature, which has been on the agenda for a few months, was discovered by Instagram in April and subsequently tested with a group of users in the US. According to the report, Adam Mosseri, who made a statement on the subject, announced in his latest update that this feature has entered the global rollout phase.
Instagram's new feature for downloading Reels videos is quite significant for users who keep their accounts public. From now on, all Instagram users will be able to download these posts to their phones and repost them. The screenshot shared by Adam Mosseri shows that there will be a watermark on the downloaded Reels videos. A user who wants to download a Reels video should go to the share section and tap the "download" option.
Meanwhile, a security measure has also been added for users. This security layer allows public account holders to control their posts. Users can completely block the downloading of Reels videos from their accounts. Those who wish can turn off the download feature for only the specific Reels videos they choose. Instagram stated that this feature will be turned off by default for users under the age of 18.
