OpenAI has added a new version to its AI-powered image generation tools. The company announced the ChatGPT Images 2.5 model, following the ChatGPT Images 2 it introduced to users in April.
It is stated that the new model offers sharper details, faster production times, and more precise editing options compared to the previous version. According to OpenAI's statement, Images 2.5 also includes improvements in natural lighting and rich texture generation.
WHAT DOES THE NEW MODEL OFFER?
One of the standout features of ChatGPT Images 2.5 is its ability to maintain objects in reference photos more consistently. It was stated that the model can follow editing instructions across multiple rounds more reliably.
OpenAI also announced that image generation latency has been reduced by up to 50 percent compared to Images 2.0. This improvement aims to speed up the process for users to turn an idea into an image and make changes to the same image.
The update is not limited to improvements on the model side. A new "Sketch" feature that allows for drawing directly within ChatGPT has also been introduced. With this tool, users will be able to create their own drawings and use these drawings as references in the AI-powered image generation process.
The platform has also added ready-made templates for popular image formats and new tools that allow users to share their image generation ideas or prompts with others. These steps are intended to make it easier for content creators and designers, in particular, to carry out their workflows directly through the chat interface.
ChatGPT Images 2.5 has been made available to ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex users on desktop, mobile, and web platforms.
