NVIDIA has announced version 1.5 of its RTX Remix platform, designed for gamers and mod developers looking to revamp classic PC games with current graphics technologies. The focus of the new version is to make file sizes more manageable while adding modern visual features like ray tracing to older titles.

RTX IO AND COMPRESSION SUPPORT TAKE CENTER STAGE
One of the most notable new features in RTX Remix 1.5 is the addition of NVIDIA's storage-focused solution, RTX IO, to the platform. This technology helps keep in-game assets streaming faster while aiming for more efficient use of system resources compared to traditional methods.
With the new version, developers and gamers can choose from different compression presets. According to information provided in the source, these presets range from 1 GB to 16 GB.
