OpenAI announces $500/month Pro 500 plan

Unveiled at DevDay, Pro 500 offers higher capacity and Ultrafast speeds for power AI users, while limits on the Pro 200 plan are being reduced.

At its annual developer event, DevDay, OpenAI announced its new high-end subscription package for individual users, Pro 500. Priced at $500 per month, the package is positioned as the option with the highest usage capacity in the company's Pro family.

The new subscription is designed for users who use AI intensively throughout the day, generate code, or delegate long-term tasks to the model. According to OpenAI, Pro 500 will provide up to 25 times the usage allowance compared to ChatGPT Plus.

OpenAI's Pro 500 package was announced with Ultrafast support.

One of the standout innovations of the package is the Ultrafast mode. This feature aims to accelerate operations, particularly on the Codex and Work sides. The company stated that GPT-6 Astra can generate up to 300 tokens per second in this mode, delivering results up to 8 times faster than standard speeds.

With the announcement of Pro 500, changes were also made to the $200/month Pro plan. For existing Pro 200 subscribers, the usage allowance in Codex and Work applications, which was previously up to 20 times that of Plus users, will be reduced to 10 times under the new regulation.

On the ChatGPT side, the weekly message limit for GPT-6 Pro will also be reduced from 200 to 100. OpenAI stated that these changes will not be applied to existing subscribers immediately; the old limits will remain in effect for a while longer. Subscribers will be provided with one-time credits during the transition to the new limits.

At DevDay, a personal AI agent named Dots for Pro subscribers was also introduced.

During the event, Dots, a personal AI agent to be offered to Pro subscribers, was also introduced. Planned as an assistant that can track and work on user tasks, a separate usage limit will be applied for Dots. These interactions will not count against the standard ChatGPT usage limit.

OpenAI also announced that it has partnered with 16 companies, including Notion and Cognition. Thanks to the “Sign in with ChatGPT” option, users will not have to create separate API keys while utilizing OpenAI models within these services.

While the $500 monthly price tag makes Pro 500 OpenAI's most expensive individual subscription, the reduction of certain limits on the Pro 200 plan during the same period stands out as a move that could spark debate among existing subscribers.
