Artificial intelligence research company OpenAI plans to produce humanoid robots.

According to a report by The Information, the creator of ChatGPT, OpenAI, has accelerated its investments in the field of artificial intelligence through financial support.

This year, OpenAI participated in a 675 million dollar investment round for Figure AI, which develops AI-powered humanoid robots, supporting the company's 2.6 billion dollar valuation. The latest robot developed by Figure AI, Figure 02, can understand voice commands from warehouse workers using OpenAI's artificial intelligence models.

The company also invested in 1X, a Norway-based company that also develops humanoid robots. The wheeled humanoid robot EVE, developed by 1X, can reach speeds of 15.7 kilometers per hour.

Last week, OpenAI announced its new artificial intelligence models, o3 and o3-mini. The o3 and o3-mini models will be introduced on top of o1 and o1-mini, which were developed to bring human-like reasoning and problem-solving capabilities to ChatGPT.

No detailed information has been shared yet regarding when a new humanoid robot project might be implemented or which areas of use it will target.
