Rapid development in electric vehicle infrastructure in Turkey: Demand for charging stations is rising
With the widespread adoption of electric vehicles, the demand for charging infrastructure across Turkey is increasing rapidly. According to 2024 data, a 235 percent increase has been observed in requests for the installation of electric vehicle charging stations.

The rise in electric vehicle usage has increased the demand for charging stations, particularly in major cities. As of 2024, Ankara drew attention by recording a 278 percent growth in charging station installation requests. This rate was 240 percent in İzmir and 186 percent in Istanbul.
In addition to metropolitan areas, Gaziantep with a 500 percent increase, Adana with 364 percent, and Bursa with 325 percent were among the prominent cities in terms of demand growth.
INFRASTRUCTURE STRENGTHENING IN INDUSTRIAL ZONES
The need for electric vehicle infrastructure has also increased significantly in industrial and commercial zones. Sakarya stood out among industrial regions, showing a 727 percent increase compared to 2023. While demand in the Çorlu and Çerkezköy districts of Tekirdağ rose by 647 percent, Kocaeli demonstrated development in industrial infrastructure with a 500 percent growth.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE USAGE INCREASING IN HOLIDAY REGIONS
Demand for electric vehicle charging stations is also rising in Turkey's holiday regions. The Çeşme district of İzmir became a prominent area in this field with a 1600 percent growth. A 550 percent increase in demand was recorded in the Bodrum district of Muğla, and a 400 percent increase in the Manavgat district of Antalya.
