Sales disappoint: Sony's PlayStation decision

Japanese technology giant Sony had aimed to create a new revenue model by bringing major titles such as God of War and The Last of Us Part I to the PC platform. However, it is stated that the company has not achieved the expected financial success from this strategy. It is suggested that Sony management has determined that PC versions are not providing the expected contribution to the company's overall financial performance.

This situation indicates that Sony is seriously considering suspending the porting of single-player PlayStation exclusive games to PC. Furthermore, there is talk that the idea known as "cross-buy," where both the PlayStation and PC versions of a game are offered in a single package, may also be shelved. The delayed release of PC versions is preventing sales from having the expected impact.

However, Sony is not completely withdrawing from the PC market. The company will continue to support its service-based and multiplayer games, such as Helldivers 2, on PC. Upcoming live-service-focused titles like Marathon are also expected to be available on the PC platform.

The future of PlayStation's flagship single-player story games, in particular, remains uncertain. Leaked information suggests that titles like Ghost of Yotei may never come to PC, or may only arrive on PC years after their PlayStation release.
