Samsung Electronics has announced the screen, performance, camera, and artificial intelligence-focused features of its new foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold8. According to the company's statement, the model stands out with screen ratios redesigned according to users' different daily usage habits.
When folded, the Galaxy Z Fold8 aims to offer a more familiar experience for quick tasks such as messaging, social media, and web browsing with its 10:16 cover screen. When the device is opened, the 4:3 main screen takes over. Samsung states that this wide screen provides a more comfortable space for gaming, watching videos, long-form reading, and productivity-focused tasks.
According to information provided by the company, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is the lightest Galaxy Z Fold model to date, weighing 201 grams. The device features the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy processor and a 4,800 mAh battery with a higher capacity compared to the previous generation.
In terms of durability, the new Flex Titanium technology is highlighted. Samsung states that the titanium-based screen structure contributes to reducing pressure and impacts, lowering the visibility of the crease, and making the opening feel more natural. The main screen features 3,000 nits of brightness, Vision Booster, and a low-reflection coating.
The Galaxy Z Fold8's camera system includes dual 50 MP cameras. While high-resolution imagery is targeted for wide and ultra-wide-angle shots, the Dual Recording feature allows both sides to be recorded simultaneously while monitoring from the front screen. The My FanCam feature tracks the selected subject and reframes the image according to the preferred aspect ratio.
In terms of artificial intelligence features, Galaxy AI is offered with tools adapted to the foldable screen structure. While Now Brief summarizes daily insights and to-do lists, Now Nudge focuses on adding plans formed during chats to the calendar and highlighting next steps. It is stated that automation features can be used in more than 40 applications and services with Gemini Intelligence support.
