It has been suggested that Samsung is preparing to expand its product range in its foldable phone strategy. According to information based on industry sources, the company aims to offer five different foldable models under the Galaxy Z9 generation next year.
According to the claims, the new family will include the large-screen Galaxy Z Fold9, a second large foldable model focused on the video experience, the Galaxy Z Fold9 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Flip9, and the next-generation Galaxy Z TriFold. Thus, Samsung's foldable device portfolio could expand to cover both the classic Fold and Flip lines as well as more experimental screen formats.
According to sources, the sales momentum achieved with the Galaxy Z Fold8 was influential in this move by the company. As competition in the foldable phone market increases, it is stated that Samsung wants to create a wider product family that appeals to different usage scenarios instead of being limited to just two main models.
VIDEO-FOCUSED LARGE SCREEN PLAN
Although the 4:3 aspect ratio of the current Galaxy Z Fold8 provides advantages for tasks such as web browsing and document review, it was criticized due to the black bars that appear when watching videos. It is stated that Samsung may focus on cinematic aspect ratios such as 16:9 and 21:9 in the new large foldable model currently under development.
This approach aims to make film, series, and online video consumption more efficient on foldable screens. It is claimed that this model will be positioned as a separate option from the Galaxy Z Fold9.
On the other hand, it is claimed that the triple-folding Galaxy Z TriFold concept could also be released in a wider market in the new generation. The TriFold design, which was previously seen as an experimental product, is considered to be an important step in Samsung's goal of bringing foldable screen technology to different form factors.
Meanwhile, it is stated that the claims that the entry-level Galaxy Z Flip FE project has been shelved and that the Galaxy Z Flip series will be completely discontinued do not reflect the truth. Accordingly, the Flip series will continue its journey with the Galaxy Z Flip9.
There has been no official statement from Samsung regarding the matter. Therefore, model names, the number of products, and the sales schedule are currently being evaluated at the level of claims coming from industry sources.
