Valve's popular game store Steam has been blocked from access by players in Vietnam. There is no official statement on the matter, but the issue is being actively discussed both online and on the Steam Forums.

ACCESS TO STEAM BLOCKED IN VIETNAM

Local online gaming monopolies in Vietnam had been complaining about Steam's game publishing policies.

As reported on Vietnam.net, it is believed that Steam has been removed in Vietnam after local game developers complained about the scope and size of Steam's vast game portfolio, claiming that they could not compete with Steam's game publishing, especially since Vietnamese developers must pass government approval while thousands of international games on Steam do not.
