Infinix has unveiled a phone concept featuring a back cover that can change colors using e-ink technology. This technology, called E-Color Shift, allows you to change the color of your phone instantly with almost zero power consumption.

A phone concept with a color-changing back cover equipped with e-ink technology has been introduced by Infinix.
Infinix is known as a company that occasionally presents remarkable concepts. In 2021, the company showcased a concept offering 160W fast charging support, which used an electrochromic film that allowed the phone's back panel to shift from gray to steel blue. Now, Infinix has introduced a new prototype that performs this color change in a more vivid and impressive way.
This technology, called E-Color Shift, is a more advanced version of its predecessor. The most significant change is that different panels on the back can be colored as desired. This is made possible by the E-Ink Prism 3 e-ink technology.
The most important feature of the new e-ink technology is that it consumes almost no energy. This highly efficient technology only uses energy to change colors and then maintains the selected colors. Furthermore, thanks to this technology, colors can be changed very quickly. This offers users an option to use the back of their phones to display GIFs or express themselves.
Although the prototype exhibited by Infinix only features 4 different squares, it shows quite striking color changes. Moreover, squares are not the only shape the e-ink can take. With the advancement of the technology, it is thought that 60 different zones could be colored on devices. However, this color-changing back panel is not a secondary screen and will not be used as such.
