The ethical use and future of deepfake technology are being discussed

Speaking at the GITEX Europe 2025 technology fair held in Berlin, Deep Fusion Creative AI Head Christian Darkin stated that deepfake technology is revolutionizing the film industry. Drawing attention to the importance of the ethical use of this technology, Darkin emphasized that the misuse of deepfake content must be prevented.

Darkin expressed that it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish deepfake videos, stating, "In these videos, people's eyes may have a less lively gaze, and the video resolution may be lower. However, these methods will also lose their effectiveness over time," he said. He also touched upon the importance of labeling and using artificial intelligence in accordance with ethical guidelines.

'YOU CAN PRODUCE HOLLYWOOD-LEVEL FILMS'

Addressing the opportunities that artificial intelligence offers in film production processes, Darkin noted that it has become possible for actors who lived in the past to take roles in today's films. "Thanks to artificial intelligence, you can produce Hollywood-level films in your living room," said Darkin, highlighting the future potential of this technology.

Providing examples regarding the ethical use of deepfake technology, Darkin mentioned that the use of the voice of the famous British television presenter Michael Parkinson in a podcast program was ethically controversial, but that this decision was approved by Parkinson's family. He drew attention to the importance of obtaining permission from the relevant individuals for such content.
