The Reels you watch on Instagram will no longer disappear

Instagram has taken a new step to make it easier for users to access the Reels videos they have previously watched. This feature, called "Watch History," will make it easier for users to find videos that caught their interest even if they did not like them. Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri stated in a post on Threads that this feature provides a solution to a problem frequently raised by users.

Users will be able to see the Reels videos they have watched in the past by accessing the "Watch History" tab from the "Your Activity" section on their profiles. Videos can be filtered by watch date, the account that shared them, or the order in which they were watched. This way, users will no longer have trouble finding videos they encountered in their feeds again.

Meta had promised to solve the issue of videos disappearing when the feed was refreshed due to a "rug pull" bug that occurred last year. The "Watch History" feature was launched as part of this commitment and allows users to find all watched Reels videos in a single archive.

Previously, users could only access old content through "Saved," "Liked," or "Shared" sections. With the new feature, all watched Reels videos are gathered in a single hub, offering ease of access. This move aims to increase engagement in Instagram's Reels area and is expected to strengthen user loyalty to the platform.
