Time for change on iPhones: AI-powered Siri and new features arrive with iOS 26.4

New information has emerged regarding the iOS 26.4 update that Apple is developing for its mobile operating system. This update, which is planned to be offered to developers in a beta version soon, includes notable innovations that will enhance the user experience.

The iOS 26.4 package, which will follow the recently distributed iOS 26.3, stands out especially with its advanced AI-powered Siri and functional application changes. All iPhone users are expected to have access to this update in March or April.

NEW SIRI EXPERIENCE AND AI INTEGRATION

The most prominent feature of the iOS 26.4 update will be Siri's new capabilities. Apple will use AI technologies inspired by Google Gemini to enable its assistant, Siri, to provide personalized responses and perform better contextual analysis. Users will be able to give advanced commands based on the content they see on the screen and will observe that Siri can transition between applications more effectively.

However, some features that Siri will gain in the future are not expected to be introduced directly with this version; a full-capacity chat assistant is planned to be on the agenda with iOS 27.

Apple is not only offering the feature that allows credit card information to be filled in automatically in the Safari browser, but is also bringing it to third-party applications with the new version. Thus, users will be able to use their credit card information easily and securely while making payments in different applications. ORGANIZATIONAL INNOVATION FOR THE FREEFORM APP

With iOS 26.4, folder creation support is being added to Freeform, Apple's note-taking and digital whiteboard application. Users will now be able to categorize and organize their projects and documents more easily. For heavy iPhone users who utilize Freeform, this change will simplify organization.

NEW SPORTS EXPERIENCE ON APPLE TV

A separate layer for sports content will also be created in the Apple TV app with the update. Apple, which invests in broadcasts such as Major League Soccer, Major League Baseball, and Formula 1, may offer the new sports module for an additional fee or through a different subscription model.

NEW STEPS IN SECURITY

iOS 26.4 also includes innovations in security. A new verification system that includes checking device integrity during Apple ID and iCloud login processes will be activated. Apple's traditional emoji calendar continues this year as well. The new emoji set, recently announced by the Unicode Consortium, will be added to iPhones with iOS 26.4. Leaked information shows that Apple is also working on iOS 27. In particular, the focus is on a renewed collection system in the Photos app and a different pairing process for AirPods. However, it is not yet clear on which date these innovations will be presented to users.
