The transition to iOS 18 is at the door! Older iPhones are being left behind

Apple’s new AI-powered operating system, iOS 18, is expected to be released in June, and information regarding which devices will be compatible with the update has been shared. The new operating system will provide integration with Google’s AI, Gemini, offering users capabilities such as image generation and article writing, and with these features, iOS 18 is projected to be the most comprehensive update yet.

According to the report in Sözcü, however, due to the limited processing power and memory of older hardware, it will not be possible for all iPhone models to support this update. Users with models released before 2018, as well as those using the SE series and the 8 Plus model or older, will not be able to access the iOS 18 update.

iPhones with the A11 Bionic chip (iPhone X, 8, and 8 Plus) and iPhones with the A10 Fusion chip (iPhone 7 and 7 Plus) will also not be able to effectively support the update. If a user's iPhone is not a model from 11 to 15, or the second and third-generation SE, XR, XS, and XS Max, they will not receive iOS 18 and future software updates.
