Turkey prepares to meet new national robots

HAKAN ALTINAY provided information about the company's robotics work, stating that in 1994 they brought to life an industrial robot with 6-axis kinematics that had features similar to a human arm in the true sense.

ROBOTS WILL DO THE HOUSEWORK

Expressing that it seems products of the robotics industry will begin to be seen competently within living spaces in the future, Altınay said, "Especially those who will be happiest about this are our housewives. A new world will begin with robots that provide service in homes, resemble humans, and are what we call 'humanoid,' at the price of 20 or 30 washing machines. Within 5 years, we will have robots in our homes that prepare our meals, then clean up, and bring us coffee when we are sitting down."

It is possible to say that with the recent effective use of robots that perform surgical interventions, humans and robots will share a common living culture in the future.

Drawing attention to the leap China has made in robotics recently, Altınay noted that 30 thousand industrial robots were produced annually in the 1990s and that these robots were mainly used by Western European countries. Altınay said, "Today, 600 thousand industrial robots are produced, and 300 thousand of them are used in factories in China. In China, the robotics industry has begun to be used incredibly in terms of quality and efficiency, rather than just cheap labor."

THE GOAL FOR 2030 IS HUMANOID ROBOTS

Pointing out that they have begun to bring a new national-level robot industry to life in Turkey by laying the foundation in 2025, Altınay said, "With this project, which we call Advanced, Robotic, Intelligent Industrial Systems, we will begin to see industrial robots and the sub-components of these industrial robots in the coming period. We have the desire to be a company that has developed a humanoid robot at a national level by 2030."

"WE CAN PRODUCE ROBOT DOGS AND MULES"

Making statements regarding the 4-legged robots that have attracted attention recently, Altınay replied, "The fundamental point in robots described as dogs or mules with higher load-carrying capacity is mastering motor technology and the control mechanism. Turkey has mastered all of these at a national level. These types of robots remain more in the background commercially in Turkey. If there is an opportunity to sell more products based on orders, we can be a candidate for this."

PREPARATIONS FOR A NEW IPO

Emphasizing that as a Defense Technologies company, they had the best IPO of 2024, Altınay said, "Nearly 3.6 million individual participants showed us favor with a 7-fold demand. Altınay Defense is walking firmly toward the future with confident steps. I am thinking of this for all the companies within the group. I very much desire for our robot group, which has 3 companies in it, to become the property of this nation by taking it public in 2026."

PERMANENCE AND SUSTAINABILITY IN TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES

Altınay said that they base their company management approach on examples in the West and that they see the IPO process as important to ensure the company's permanence. Drawing attention to the successful IPO process in 2024, Altınay emphasized that they want these technologies to be embraced nationwide by taking their robot groups public in 2026.

While Turkey is advancing with strong steps in robotic technologies, national robots will become a part of life in many areas from industry to home life in the coming years.
