Twitch increases subscription fees

In Turkey, Twitch subscription fees will increase after March 28, with Tier 1 subscriptions rising from 9.90 TL to 43.90 TL, Tier 2 subscriptions from 19.99 TL to 87.90 TL, and Tier 3 subscriptions from 49.99 TL to 215.90 TL.

"WE ARE UPDATING SUBSCRIPTION PRICES"

The statement released by Twitch on the matter is as follows:

“Twitch streamers use our revenue-generating tools to build their communities and reach their goals. Of these, Subscriptions are the most important tool that allows viewers to support the streamers they love. Since day one, subscription prices have never been raised; in fact, with the local pricing implementation in 2021, prices were lowered in many countries. Now, we are updating subscription prices in some countries, taking into account the rising costs for streamers and fluctuations in some local currencies. What is changing? Starting March 28, Tier 1 subscription and gift subscription prices on the web will be updated in Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom. In Turkey, subscription and gift subscription prices for all three tiers are being updated.

Existing subscriptions will automatically renew at the new price. You do not need to take any action. Existing subscribers will be notified via email one month before this price update goes into effect. There are no changes to the prices of Tier 2 and Tier 3 subscriptions and gift subscriptions in Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

PRICES IN THE MOBILE APP WILL NOT CHANGE FOR A WHILE

The price update only applies to subscriptions purchased via desktop or mobile web. Prices in the mobile app will be updated in the coming months. You will continue to earn the same amount as today from Prime subscriptions until June 3. After this date, the payment amounts specified for each country will apply. It is important to provide viewers with tools and methods to support streamers. When we make comprehensive and complex changes, we adopt a phased approach to understand their effects and apply them to future updates.

We anticipate that there will be price updates in other countries later this year, and we will notify you before they go into effect.”
