It has been claimed that the number of daily users on X has declined since Elon Musk acquired the platform, formerly known as Twitter.
According to data from Sensor Tower, the number of daily active users of the Twitter mobile app in the US in February was 27 million, an 18% decrease compared to the previous year.
As reported by NTV from NBC News, Sensor Tower stated that the US user base has remained flat or declined every month since November 2022, decreasing by 23% in total.
The firm noted that the figures are nearly as poor globally, with the number of daily active users on the mobile app falling to 174 million in February, a 15% decrease compared to the previous year.
According to Sensor Tower, the number of worldwide users during Musk's tenure has remained flat or declined every month, with the exception of one month where it showed a slight increase in October, before falling again.
Twitter stated that the number of users worldwide is higher than what Sensor Tower's data shows, and that 250 million people use Twitter every day globally.
This figure still represents a decline compared to the time when Musk purchased the app.
According to the company, 550 million people use Twitter on a monthly basis.
