The well-known cryptocurrency exchange BtcTurk has announced that it was subjected to a cyberattack.
The statement regarding the matter was made via the BtcTurk mobile application. A cyberattack involving unauthorized withdrawals was detected on June 22.
It was stated that a portion of the balances in hot wallets containing 10 different cryptocurrencies was affected by the attack.
Although no official statement has been made regarding the scale of the attack or the exact amount of the affected balance, it is alleged that 55 million dollars evaporated as a result of the cyberattack.
Selim Somçağ had previously issued warnings regarding such cyberattacks emerging in the Bitcoin market.
