WhatsApp announces: HD photos and videos can now be sent in high quality
Meta already allows users to send HD photos via WhatsApp. However, it previously required selecting the HD option every single time before sending a photo. The long-awaited update has finally arrived. Now, high-quality photos can be sent without any extra effort.

WhatsApp has announced a new development regarding high-quality media sharing.
While photos and videos were previously compressed to save storage and data, it is now possible to send photos or videos in HD.
Previously, the HD option had to be selected manually for every share. WhatsApp has now addressed this issue.
HD OPTION CAN BE SET AS DEFAULT
WhatsApp now supports sending HD photos by default. This eliminates the need to go through the trouble for every individual photo.
While photos taken with an iPhone are reduced to 960×1280 pixels in standard quality, HD quality keeps the image in its rawest form (at 3024×4032 pixel resolution).
Last year, WhatsApp introduced a similar option for videos. When the feature is enabled, it is possible to send videos in 720p resolution instead of 480p. Now, if you set HD as the default, you can send photos directly in high quality.
You can adjust the default image quality under the Storage and Data menu in WhatsApp settings.
