WhatsApp introduces new features for group chats

The popular messaging app WhatsApp is planning to make a significant change to group chats to improve the user experience. The new feature being tested allows replies to a message to be gathered under a single thread and displayed on a separate screen. This way, users will be able to see all replies to a message without any confusion.

This innovation will be usable not only in crowded groups but also in one-on-one chats. Especially in long and scattered conversations, it will be easy to track who gave which response. First discovered in the beta version 25.19.10.80 on the iOS platform, this feature will also be offered to Android users shortly.

REPLY COUNT WILL BE DISPLAYED

Users will be able to see all replies to a relevant message under a single thread by tapping an icon next to messages that contain replies. New replies can also be added from the same screen. With this feature, in addition to making messages more organized, WhatsApp will also numerically show how many replies are under each message. Thus, users will be able to evaluate how much attention a message has received by looking at the reply count.

RELEASE DATE UNCERTAIN

It is not yet clear when the new feature will be available to all users. However, considering that WhatsApp has recently been working on innovations such as AI-supported message summarization and writing assistance, this update is also expected to be integrated into the application in the near future.
