Microsoft's most popular Windows versions have been determined according to the latest report from Statcounter. Windows 11 has achieved a major success by reaching the peak in usage rates three years after its launch.

Here are the details:

As of January 2024, Windows 11 has continued its growth trend, accounting for 27 percent of the overall Windows market. It has reached its highest market share since its launch and showed an increase of 1.29 percent compared to the previous month.

Although Windows 10 held the lead for a long time, it fell to a 66.47 percent share in January, experiencing a 0.95 percent decline. However, it still remains in the number one position by a wide margin.

Windows 7 fell from 3.35 percent to 3.05 percent, despite its support period having ended.

Among other older versions, Windows 8.1 remained stable at 1.73 percent, while Windows XP declined to 0.57 percent.

The interest and adoption of Windows 11 by users stand out as part of Microsoft's long-term strategy. The fact that support for Windows 10 was set to end in 2023 and Microsoft's focus on Windows 11 as its official operating system can also be considered a reflection of this development. The company's AI-powered operating system is expected to be in the leading position in the coming years.
