X has begun rolling out the audio and video calling feature, which iOS users have been experiencing since last October, to Android users as well.

According to a statement by one of the application's engineers, Enrique, the audio and video calling feature is gradually being made available to users on the Android platform. While noting that users who update the app will now be able to experience this feature, Enrique jokingly added, "Update the app and call your mom."

X continues to stand out as a microblogging platform that is constantly in the spotlight due to the changes and statements made by Elon Musk. The audio and video calling feature, which was introduced to iOS users in October 2023, can now be used by Android users as well.

The feature is currently offered exclusively to X Premium users, so those who wish to use it will need to obtain an X Premium subscription. However, interestingly, while only X Premium users can initiate audio or video calls, they can be called by all users. In other words, an X Premium subscriber will be able to call a person who is not a subscriber.

X CEO Linda Yaccarino had stated her intention to make X an "everything app" and officially announced the audio and video calling feature in August 2023.
