Yandex Maps has launched a new interface update to improve the experience for users in Turkey. With detailed road drawings and a high-contrast design now available to everyone in Istanbul, it offers greater convenience for both drivers and pedestrians in using the map.
YANDEX MAPS INTRODUCES TURKEY UPDATE
The detailed HD map view, which was recently offered specifically for vehicles in Istanbul, now includes new features for pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport users. In the new update, roads are shown in shades of gray in zoomed-in views.
Underpasses are now highlighted in purple, making it easier to follow routes. In addition to these visual innovations on the map, Yandex has also changed its fonts. Street names are now displayed in larger and bolder typefaces.
City boundaries, streets, and avenues can be distinguished much more clearly. Furthermore, iconic landmarks of Istanbul such as the Galata Tower and Hagia Sophia are now marked directly on the map with photo icons. This allows users to easily refer to visual cues rather than just written directions.
The renewed interface of Yandex Maps has been made available simultaneously to Android, iOS, and web users. This HD map view, which shows lane information in detail in Istanbul, is aimed to be rolled out in other major cities of Turkey soon.
