YouTube announces new update: Different colors will be used
YouTube is now offering users a different method for homepage recommendations. Accordingly, YouTube is now suggesting videos based on colors.

YouTube is trying a rather interesting way to stream videos. In this direction, YouTube will use a feed organized by colors.
DIFFERENT COLOR OPTIONS
The “Looking for something new?” card encountered on YouTube for Android suggests, “Create a video feed by color and enjoy exploring.”
The options consist of RGB colors, matching red, green, and blue. When you select one of the colors, the filter range at the top, which is already personalized to your interests, shifts to the end. Instead of white, the actual color is used for emphasis.
It appears that YouTube looks at the thumbnail or perhaps the entire video to determine the dominant tone. Perhaps some users may not mind browsing this way.
FILTER FEATURE
In general, these new feeds are a bit strange because it seems the colors are in no way related to the subject of the video. Unless YouTube has data and tests to the contrary for now, this new color-based discovery feature only offers filtering based on intense colors.
The filters seem more like an experience that could be used on YouTube Music. Finally, this new personalization option might be for Premium users.
