160 million euro sale to avoid point deduction!

English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers avoided potential penalties from the Premier League by selling 160 million euros worth of players during the summer.

According to a report in The Telegraph, Wolves moved at full speed to fend off the threat of sanctions for violating the Profit and Sustainability Rules (formerly known as Financial Fair Play) set by the Premier League administration, selling 17 players.

Wolves Club generated over 100 million euros in transfer profit this summer. They sold players such as Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez, Nathan Collins, Conor Coady, and Matheus Nunes for high fees. Had Wolves not achieved this transfer profit, they would have faced a 1-point deduction, just like other clubs in similar situations.

Having received approval from the Premier League administration following the player sales, Wolves has committed that there will be no further departures.

Conor Coady: 8.7 million euros

Raul Jimenez: 6.4 million euros

IN GOOD FORM DESPITE SALES

Despite all these sales, Wolves managed to go on a 5-match unbeaten streak in the league, collecting 12 points in 10 weeks and climbing to 12th place.
