Fenerbahçe, which requested the postponement of the Super Cup match against Galatasaray due to its European fixtures, Turkish Football Federationdecided to take the field with its U19 team after the request was rejected.

In the match that started at 9:30 PM last night in Şanlıurfa with Galatasaray's kickoff, the Yellow-Reds took a 1-0 lead with a goal scored by Icardi in the 50th second.

The Fenerbahçe management withdrew the team from the pitch before restarting play. While the Yellow-Navy players headed to the locker room, the Galatasaray players celebrated on the field.

While Fenerbahçe's protest received widespread coverage in the world press, a striking claim was made after the match was abandoned.

Journalist Ahmet Ercanlar claimed that before the match, Galatasaray's Kerem Aktürkoğluhad spoken with Fenerbahçe's Emirhan Arkutçu and "Whoever starts the match, let them kick the ball out for a throw-in and let whatever happens, happen" were the words he used.

In a post on his X (Twitter) account, Ercanlar stated the following;

"Look, I am going to write something historic.

Before the match, Kerem Aktürkoğlu went to Fenerbahçe's Emirhan and said, 'Whoever starts the match, let them kick the ball out for a throw-in and let whatever happens, happen.' Emirhan said okay. When the match started, while the kids were waiting in confusion for them to kick it out, Galatasaray scored a goal.  I hope Emirhan comes out and tells this story. Everyone will see what kind of struggle we are in and who we are fighting against."

In his next post, Ercanlar called out to Kerem Aktürkoğlu, "Kerem, you are not moving in the game because you gave your word. That is why I cannot say a single word to you. Come out and say something about this villainy. The 17-year-old kids trusted your word." he stated.
