Trabzonspor manager Abdullah Avcı made statements following the 1-1 draw against Başakşehir.

Starting his remarks by addressing the news of martyrs received during the match, Avcı said, "We spoke before the match as well; I believe the number of our martyrs has increased. These events are deeply distressing to us."

Evaluating the match, Abdullah Avcı stated, "These are two teams with organization and systems. We applied our pressure correctly. We conceded a goal in the first half when they broke out into open space, but after that, we tried to play correctly again. We hit the post, and we missed chances."

Speaking about the injuries, Avcı said, "Abdülkadir had an injury. He wanted to be involved. Larsen had pain in his knee. Pepe has a time limit. Because there would be a serious risk of injury, we tried to utilize him for 10-15 minutes."

Finally, stating that the performance was not enough, Avcı remarked, "We were closer to winning today. It is a long road. Improvement does not happen easily. We could have won, but I think we played better than in previous weeks against a good team, though it is not enough. We need a bit more finishing and quality. We wanted to win the last match of the year, but we couldn't. We only have one defeat. We will try to make better use of this break and move forward more healthily in the process that follows."
