Following Aziz Yıldırım's re-election as president of Fenerbahçe, a notable development has occurred regarding the club's private box arrangements. According to a report by journalist Sercan Hamzaoğlu, the private box at Chobani Stadium belonging to Acun Ilıcalı, who served as vice president during the Ali Koç era, has been revoked.

It was stated that Yıldırım, who took the presidential seat at the extraordinary congress held on June 6-7, will henceforth utilize the box previously used by Ilıcalı as the “Presidential Box.” The box in question is located at the exact center point of the pitch and will be allocated to future club presidents as well.

Acun Ilıcalı, the owner of Premier League side Hull City, said in his first statement regarding the development, “Yes, they took my box.”

TENSION DATES BACK TO THE ELECTION PERIOD

The decision has brought the disputes that began between Yıldırım and Ilıcalı before the 2024 election process back to the agenda. The tension, which escalated with mutual statements at the time, was later reflected in legal proceedings.

It was reported that the fine imposed by the court in the criminal case opened following Ilıcalı's complaint was paid by Aziz Yıldırım and the case file was closed. Ilıcalı had also filed a 10 million TL compensation lawsuit against Yıldırım due to remarks made about him.
