Acun's 'I am waiting for an answer' outburst to Galatasaray executives: 'You look guilty'

Fenerbahçe Vice President Acun Ilıcalı responded to the statements made about him by Galatasaray Second President Metin Öztürk. In his statement, Ilıcalı demanded that Galatasaray respond to allegations that it 'received advertisements from illegal betting companies'.

Ilıcalı used the following expressions in his post on his social media account:

''When I started my remarks yesterday, I said, 'Everything I will talk about will be concrete; I will not make a speech based on an allegation or a gray area. Let no one engage in wordplay, pull the conversation to other places, or attack us just to vent their grudge'.''

'WORDPLAY' ACCUSATION AGAINST GALATASARAY

Referring to Öztürk's statements, Ilıcalı described the Galatasaray Second President's remarks as 'wordplay'.

Arguing that the Galatasaray management is 'trying to distract from the subject', the Fenerbahçe Vice President wrote, 'Those who try to attack me over baseless and ugly slanders, which our former president made with the ambition of winning an election and which I have taken to the judiciary, are making themselves look ridiculous.'

Stating that he would respond to 'those trying to smear him', Ilıcalı also made a statement regarding the illegal betting site advertisement that appeared on his channel, TV8.

Ilıcalı reported the following regarding the issue:

'The betting advertisement broadcast on TV8 was an advertisement that came from a Dutch service provider, the signal of which was received from outside, which our channel had no agreement with, and for which we received no payment. We have announced this to the public; this fact is known by everyone.'

'DID YOU REPORT YOUR FOOTBALLERS' SALARIES ACCURATELY?'

Focusing on the allegations that Galatasaray received illegal betting advertisements, Ilıcalı demanded that this issue be clarified.

At the end of his statement, Acun Ilıcalı noted the following:

'Now, to the spokespersons and Metin Öztürk who are trying to keep up with me: I am asking you 4 concrete questions regarding the facts, leaving aside the irrelevant agenda you have created, and I am waiting for concrete answers:

1 - I have never met with, made an agreement with, or received any money from any illegal betting company. Have you met with an illegal betting company? Did you make an agreement? Did you receive money from their sponsorship?
2 - If you received money from an illegal betting company, does this money not become illegal money? Does this situation not constitute unfair competition?
3 - Did you report the salaries of the footballers you transferred last season accurately? All of Turkey knows that you did not. Can you deny it?
4 - Does this situation not constitute unfair competition? In both cases, does it not provide you with an unfair advantage in spending limits?
When you distract the subject to completely different places and attack me, you look in a difficult position and guilty. I am waiting for you to focus on these clear questions of mine and provide concrete answers.'
