Former referee and presenter Ahmet Çakar arrived at the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan as part of an investigation launched against him for "insult" and "violation of the Law No. 6222 on the Prevention of Violence and Disorder in Sports" following a complaint by Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President Mehmet Büyükekşi.

"I did not accuse anyone, especially Büyükekşi"

In his statement to the prosecutor, it was learned that Çakar said, "If a federation brings individuals to the Central Referee Board (MHK) who do not meet the qualifications for the MHK, this is called using them like a secretariat. It is true that I received a CD. The conversations on this CD are of a nature that would change the course and honor of Turkish football. These conversations were likely recorded illegally. I do not know who recorded them. I did not accuse anyone, especially Büyükekşi. There is a saying in our Turkish language: 'those who have a wound will wince.' I did not mean anyone in particular here either. I request that a decision of non-prosecution be issued regarding me. I do not accept the accusations."

"We were complained about, we gave our statement, and we left; that is all"

Speaking to the press after his statement, Çakar said, "Trust the prosecutors and judges. I trust the Turkish judiciary. We were complained about, we gave our statement, and we left; that is all. I offer my respects and regards."
