Looking to add a star attacker to their squad ahead of the 2025-26 season, Al Hilal has turned its focus to the English Premier League. The Saudi Arabian side has taken a significant step toward signing Liverpool's 26-year-old striker, Darwin Nunez.

According to information shared by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, negotiations between Al Hilal and Liverpool have concluded positively, and the clubs have reached an agreement. The deal is expected to be finalized once an agreement is reached on the player's personal terms.

HEAD COACH INZAGHI IS KEEN ON THE TRANSFER

New Al Hilal head coach Simone Inzaghi has made the signing of Darwin Nunez one of his top priorities. It is stated that the Italian manager views the Uruguayan forward as a key component of his attacking system.

The Al Hilal management has accelerated the transfer process in line with Inzaghi's request. Currently, the parties are negotiating personal matters such as Nunez's salary and the duration of the contract.

WHAT DID HE ACHIEVE IN HIS LIVERPOOL CAREER?

Darwin Nunez transferred to Liverpool from Benfica at the beginning of the 2022-23 season for a transfer fee of 85 million euros. Having worn the English team's jersey for three seasons, Nunez fell short of expectations, particularly in his first season.

The Uruguayan player made a total of 143 appearances during his Liverpool career, scoring 40 goals and providing 22 assists. Last season, he played in 47 matches, starting only 17 of them. He finished the season with 7 goals and 5 assists.
