In a statement released by the club, it was stated: "An application will be made to the relevant TFF boards to initiate the necessary disciplinary investigation regarding the unsportsmanlike gesture made by Galatasaray professional footballer Mauro Icardi towards our stands during the MKE Ankaragücü-Galatasaray match played on February 18, 2024."
