French player Ibrahima Konate, who plays for the historic Premier League side Liverpool, has shared his decision to end his career at the club. Stating that his contract will expire at the end of June, the successful center-back shared his departure with the fans in an emotional statement.
In his statement on his social media account, Konate said, "I am very sad that I did not have the chance to say goodbye to you all in the last match. I didn't know at that moment that I would be wearing this jersey in front of you for the last time. Anfield is truly a special place and playing in front of you was something I never took for granted."
Transferring to Liverpool from the German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in 2021, Konate achieved notable successes during his time with the English representative. The French player experienced the joy of winning the English League Cup twice, as well as one English Premier League, FA Cup, and Community Shield title each with Liverpool.
