In the 27th week of the Ukrainian Premier League, Shakhtar Donetsk secured a clear 4-0 victory away at Poltava. Following this result, the capital city representative managed to clinch the championship title with three weeks remaining in the league.
Shakhtar Donetsk, managed by Arda Turan, reached 66 points, extending their lead over their closest rival to 11 points and mathematically guaranteeing a first-place finish. Arda Turan, one of the prominent figures of Turkish football, continued to make a name for himself in his managerial career by winning the Ukrainian Premier League title in his first season with Shakhtar Donetsk.
