Arda Turan's new destination is Shakhtar Donetsk
Shakhtar Donetsk, a team in the Ukrainian League, has announced that Arda Turan has been appointed as head coach. The 38-year-old manager has reached a two-year agreement with the Ukrainian club.

Head coach Arda Turan has become the new manager of Ukrainian Premier League side Shakhtar Donetsk. The young coach has signed a 2-year contract with Shakhtar Donetsk.
In a statement released by the Shakhtar Donetsk club, it was stated, "Welcome, Arda Turan. The agreement with the 38-year-old Turkish coach is planned to last until the summer of 2027. He will be the 39th head coach in the history of the Donetsk club."
The announcement published by the club also included statements from Arda Turan. Turan said, "I am proud to join Shakhtar. It is a great club with a rich history and wonderful traditions. It is a team well-known across Europe, with the ambition to win every match. I hope to contribute to the club's legacy and provide our fans with many joyful moments through our style of play. We have a deep motivation to win trophies, both in Ukraine and in European competitions."
Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Serhii Palkin stated, "Arda Turan is a promising and ambitious coach with experience in the highly competitive Turkish league. As a player, he is a true legend of European football, and I believe that with Shakhtar, he will have an equally successful coaching career that will bring trophies to the club both in Ukraine and internationally."
Arda Turan, who began his coaching career by taking charge of Eyüpspor in 2023, succeeded in leading the team to the Süper Lig in the 2023-24 season.
In the Trendyol Süper Lig this season, Eyüpspor, under the management of Arda Turan, sits in 6th place with 53 points—earned from 15 wins, 8 draws, and 13 losses—with one week remaining in the season.
